MVA w/Entrapment Rt140 06/15/07
| Description | : | MVA on RTt140 approxiimately 1 mile from Stafford Spreedway. Operator failed to negotiate a bend in the road and struck a large tree while apparently travelling at high speed. Lone occupant was severely injured and trapped under the dashboard.
The IC (C44) called for an additional Heavy Rescue (R244), an R5 (ASM Paramedic) and Lifestar on arrival. Required Both WSFD Heavy Rescues for extrication, a wrecker to stabilize the vehicle, plus ET144 for the landing zone. Patient flown by Lifestar to St. Francis Hospital. It should be noted that the steering wheel WAS NOT removed by our personnel. Apparently, the operator broke the wheel off with his body upon impact. |
